Hello! Hope everyone has had a relaxing weekend. Had to mention these cutting discs as they came in very handy over the weekend when cutting through some old metal shelving I was getting rid off from the garage. So suitably kitted on in all the saftey kit I could find (I had to look the part), safety goggles, dust mask, leather gauntlets, full suit of armour... Ok maybe I made up the full suit of armour, but you get the picture.

Making sure all my safety gear was in place, looking very much like an over cautious Marshmallow man, I proceeded with the job in hand.

Suffice to say these cut through the (mild steel) like a hot knife through butter. The only downside to this of course was that I ended up finishing in half the time I originally anticipated, meaning I would have to help out my other half in the house...

So being ever the quick thinker (not) I proceeded to cut the remaing pieces into smaller and smaller chunks until eventually I was left with a pile of short ends and a heck of alot of dust, meaing I had to spend an extra half hour cleaning up the patio outside!

Serves me right I suppose!

Flex cutting AND grinding discs

Flex Cut & Grind

Hello and good morning! Hope all are well. Today I am going to be giving a quick review on this fairly new product from Hermes abrasives. Better known for its fantastic sanding belts/discs etc, Hermes also manufacture a range of cutting discs, with the 'Flex' being one of them.

This is a cutting disc however with a twist, enabling you to cut & grind with the same discs due to a unique design which enables the disc to flex when grinding so that the disc does not shatter and break.

Being the cynical sort of person that I am, I expected the disc to be mediochre at best in terms of cutting and marginally better with regard to grinding.

I was wrong. Again.

I found the disc excellent to cut with and then the ease of just changing the angle makes short work of gridning anything, saving lots of time as there is no need to change disc!

One of my customers found this particularly useful as he works at height where changing a disc can be a precarious practice and a nightmare with regards to health and safety. So this is the sort of situation where the flex disc comes into its own.

Hello all! Just a quick few thoughts on this Cross cut mitre saw from Einhell.

I have to admit I was a little apprehensive about this product when I first saw it in the promotional deluge I have to wade through every day, as at £89.99 (inc VAT) for a machine of this power of any quality would usually be more above the 100 quid mark.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was wrong! The general feel and finish on this product belies the price paid and is to the standard found on machines twice this price.

Unfortunately I was not left long with my new toy, as this belonged to a gentleman who had purchased from our online store, so I had to watch very sadly as this was packaged up and sent out without even having the chance to fire it up!
